Judy’s School of Dance had an exciting 2009-10 dance season! Our studio was proud to be a part of the Olympic Torch Bearing Ceremony when it came through Stratford on Sunday, December 27, 2009. We had forty-five step dancers and five musicians representing our studio in this patriotic event. On April 15, 16 & 17, 2010 we had a large contingent from our studio attending the Nickel City Clogging Workshop on Grand Island, New York. While there Judy taught classes and close to 60 dancers from Judy’s School of Dance performed in their Saturday Night Show. Kyle Waymouth spent a large part of our last season touring with the Scott Woods Band. This was an exciting opportunity for Kyle. He started out performing in Ontario and Quebec as part of the Old Time Christmas Show. In the New Year he was invited to be in the By Request Show that toured to both the West and East Coast of Canada. As we enter our 31st Year in business at Judy’s School of Dance it is shaping up to be our most electrifying season to date!!! Judy is booked to teach at the 27th Annual National Clogging Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. This event is taking place at the Opryland Hotel. Judy’s School of Dance has been extended an invitation to perform at Disney on the upcoming Christmas holidays. We will be doing an hour show on the Waterside Stage at Downtown Disney on Thursday, December 30, 2010. What a great opportunity for all of our students at Judy’s School of Dance – Disney here we come!!! However the biggest news is that Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri has asked Judy to put together a “Riverdance” styled show of Canadian Step Dancing at their theme park to coincide with World-Fest, which is the largest international Folk Festival in North America. What a great outlet for us to showcase our unique Canadian folk-art of step dancing along with some great old-tyme fiddling as well. The show is going to be staged at the Opera House, a 1,000 seat theatre in Silver Dollar City. We will be doing three shows a day and four on Saturdays, with Mondays and Tuesdays off. The Festival will run from April 7th to May 8th. We are looking forward to having Shane Cook, Stephanie Cadman, Tyler Beckett, Bogdan Djukic and Jake Charron as part of this show along with many of the top step dancers in Ontario today!
